The team wins the game easily, and when the guys run to their wives, I’m left standing alone. Until I feel his breath near my ear.
“Hey, Liz.”
“Hey,” I say, turning toward him. “Good game.”
“I couldn’t wait to see you today.”
His words surprise me. I’m never speechless. Until now.
“I know you want to go slow. Is it too soon for me to invite you on our next date?”
All I can do is shake my head no. What is wrong with me?
“Tomorrow night? Want to hang out and watch a movie? We can order in.”
“Sounds great.”
He lets out a sigh of relief, and I’m not sure he knows he did it. Do I make him as nervous as he makes me? In the best way possible, of course.
“Great. I’ll text you later. There’s another game, so we need to clear out our gear.”
Before I can process his movements, he lifts my hands in his and brushes my knuckles with his lips, sending tingles through every inch of me.
“Until tomorrow.”
I’m practically swooning when the girls catch up to me.
“Told ya,” Anna says. “Baseball is the best.”
My phone pings, and after I read it, I show her the screen.
Tyler: Seeing you made my day. I’m counting down until I see you tomorrow. “Swoon-worthy for sure,” she says.
